Queen Mary University of London has opened its doors to Dept W – its new building for professional services staff fully designed specifically for agile working.
It will support Queen Mary staff to better collaborate with colleagues world-wide and to realise the benefits of hybrid working.
Situated in Whitechapel, the building is fitted with the latest technology and designed to remove the need to be in one specific location most of the time.
The site provides the ideal environment for collaboration. Every meeting room is fitted with facilities to host blended meetings, where attendees are both physically present and remote, so that distance is no barrier to colleagues easily working together. The open-plan office space is built for hot-desking with ample collaborative working spaces and dedicated quiet spaces for calls and face-to-face meetings.
Dept W can accommodate more than 650 staff on site and contains a ground floor café open to the public.
