Last week, Queen Mary University of London’s Indonesian education partner Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) met with Queen Mary colleagues. The UGM delegation was led by Dr Bayu Sutikno, Vice Dean for Academic and Student Affairs, Faculty of Economics and Business UGM.
The visit provided an opportunity for a face-to-face catch-up on the latest offer updates and highlights from the School of Business and Management (SBM) and an outlook on the next academic year, including Queen Mary’s new programmes for Sept 2024.
Professor Stefan Krummaker, Queen Mary’s Deputy Vice-Principal Education, said: “As a long-established, well-standing partner renowned for its excellence in research and teaching across Indonesia and beyond, we are always excited to welcome UGM on campus. Together we explored potential ideas for new collaborations in teaching and research.”
Queen Mary has been working with UGM since 2016 and currently has two active progression agreements – giving high-performing UGM graduates the chance to progress to postgraduate study at Queen Mary – and an active Study Abroad agreement within the School of Politics and international Relations. In March this year, Queen Mary and UGM also launched an international research team to explore cost-effective future telecommunication technology. The collaboration has been funded by Queen Mary International Science and Partnership Fund Grant and aims to deliver an exploratory study of 3D-printed high-frequency devices for future telecommunications.
Established under Dutch rule in 1949, Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) is one of Indonesia’s oldest and largest higher education institutions. It is also one of the best and most prestigious in the country.
