City campuses

City campuses

At Queen Mary, you get the safety and security of campus life, while living in one of the most exciting parts of London.

Most of our undergraduate students are based in Mile End which is set alongside the surprisingly green and peaceful Regent’s Canal, with medicine and dentistry students situated a short walk away at our Whitechapel campus

We’re one of the few campus-based universities in London – especially this close to central London. I think that’s really nice. It’s still open to the public but you’re not right in the middle of the city and it’s a nice space to learn in because of it.

Our Mile End campus offers a community where you can live, relax and study. We have two shops, four cafés, two restaurants, a bar, a gym, a bookshop and a bank on site. There’s plenty of green and outdoor space, but you’re only minutes away from Central London’s bustling streets.

There are nearly 2,500 rooms in self-catering residences on or near the Mile End campus and we are just a five minute walk away from Mile End and Stepney Green Tube stations.

Take a virtual tour of this thriving community and the key buildings which are home to many of Queen Mary’s academic schools across our Humanities and Social Sciences, and Science and Engineering faculties.

Whitechapel campus

Our medicine and dentistry students have their own campus at Whitechapel, next to the Royal London Hospital. Whitechapel is a vibrant area, famous for its street market, variety of curry houses and the Whitechapel Gallery. The campus has its own library, state-of-the-art labs at the Blizard Institute and a Students Union with a cafe, bar, computers and bookshop. But you can also use all the facilities at the Mile End campus, which is ten minutes up the road.

Come on a virtual tour and explore the Blizard Building, Garrod Building, Whitechapel library, Griff Inn, and Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry Students Association.
