The Barts and The London Cambridge and Oxford Graduates' Club is comprised of students and alumni who have either studied at or who are currently studying at Barts and The London School of Medicine and Dentistry (or its former institutions) having transferred from Cambridge or Oxford to undertake their clinical studies. Staff from the School or Barts Health NHS Trust, who qualified from Cambridge or Oxford, are also among the membership. The group meets regularly for dinner and for drinks receptions. There is also an annual reception to welcome new transfer students to Barts and The London. The Barts and The London Cambridge and Oxford Graduates' Club has been in existence for over 100 years. Its origins date back to 1876 when the Cambridge Graduates' Club of St Bartholomew's Hospital was founded for the express purpose of welcoming each new generation of medical 'undergraduates' (Bachelors of Arts in statu pupillari) from Cambridge to Barts. A history of the Club [PDF 147KB] has been written by members Professor Chris Hudson (q Cambridge/Barts, 1955) and Marcus Setchell (q Cambridge/Barts, 1967).
