Engineering at Queen Mary has a distinguished tradition in both teaching and research, dating back to the beginning of the 1900s while Materials research has been carried out at Queen Mary longer than any other institution in the UK. Today, research in the School of Engineering and Materials Science benefits from both excellent well-equipped laboratories and an extensive infrastructure of computational facilities. There is significant collaboration and interaction between our internationally leading academics working in multidisciplinary research areas. The research findings are incorporated into teaching, which means that our graduates learn about the very latest skills and advancements in the field, equipping them well for their future careers.
