At Queen Mary we take pride in being “home” to students from around the world. Each year we welcome an array of thinkers, changemakers and future leaders from over 170 countries to our five campuses around London. In 2023, over 350 students from 36 African nations were part of Queen Mary community in the heart of London.
Finding the right fit for programmes and universities requires a lot of research – our regional pages will help you to gather more information about the University, what you need to apply and what opportunities it has opened to some of our alumni from Africa.
We are also proud to partner with organizations that help to support students to fund their studies at Queen Mary University of London, including Chevening and Commonwealth Master’s Scholarships. More information about available scholarships, and our searchable scholarships database, can be found on our Scholarships and Funding page.
If you have any further questions, please feel free to reach out to Anita Walton, Regional Manager for Africa. You can find details of any upcoming events where you can meet Anita or another colleague from the International Student Recruitment team on our Connect With Us page.
The cultural variety at Queen Mary gave me the chance to meet students from all over the world, who were quite helpful in transitioning to and interacting more in the new community. Exploring London’s sights, discovering the city’s history and hidden gems added another dimension to my international experience— Rana Kamel Elnady, Egypt. 2021/2022, Cancer and Therapeutic MSc
