Members of our dementia research team at the Preventive Neurology Unit, QMUL, attended and presented at the the Alzheimer's Association International Conference (AAIC) 2023 in Amsterdam, Netherlands and online. AAIC is one of the largest and most impactful international conferences focused on cutting-edge research in dementia. Our research team presented work centred on dementia risk factors and prevention, in addition to addressing health inequalities that exist in minoritized ethnic groups.
Miss Rosario Isabel Espinoza Jeraldo presented a poster entitled "Dementia prevention strategies in Low and Middle Income Countries". Miss Rifah Anjum presented a poster entitled "Relationship between divorced status and in vivo beta-amyloid pathology in cognitively normal older adults". Dr Avinash Chandra presented a poster entitled "Influence of widowhood on amyloid positivity status in cognitively normal older adults". Miss Phazha Bothongo presented a poster entitled "Socioeconomic variation in modifiable risk factors for dementia" and a platform talk entitled "Ethnic variation in modifiable risk factors for dementia". All of this work was supported by research team lead, Dr Charles Marshall.
