Biophysics of Cancer Cell Migration
High grade serous ovarian cancer (HGSC) is the deadliest gynaecological disease. Most HGSC patients are diagnosed at advanced stages, with widespread metastases. HGSC cells disseminate through the peritoneum and invade the fatty tissue of the omentum. This project aims to decipher the mechanisms of HGSC adipose tissue invasion and to understand the impact of biomechanical and biochemical cues regulating this process. In particular, we are developing cell-remodellable organo-hydrogels that capture the microstructure and mechanics of omental tissue to investigate HGSC invasion.
