London South Bank University - BHM event with Pauline Campbell - 2nd October 

Please see a link to our first Black history month event at LSBU, where we will hear from Pauline Campbell who is a British writer and senior lawyer raised in London after her parents crossed thousands of miles to live in Britain, leaving the warm shores of the Caribbean behind. In 2021, Pauline Campbell published her first non-fiction book, Rice & Peas and Fish & Chips. "One woman's story of overcoming racism." Pauline is a Waltham Forest Council lawyer fighting for Windrush families invited to the UK from the West Indies after World War Two, in 1948. Campbell is currently the legal adviser to the Windrush Reach Project.

Queen Mary University of London - BHM event with Denise Amankwah - 4th October

As part of black history month, Denise Amankwah will be giving a LingLunch on Zoom, on the findings from her MA project. The title of her talk will be: 'English on a pedestal: experiences of Black African children and their families'. The talk will be held on the 4th October 2023 at 12pm-1pm.
