Following the lecture, Professor Lastra organised an informal networking lunch at the Centre for Commercial Law Studies with Chris Bates. Banking and Finance LLM Students Visit Lloyd’s of London for an Exclusive Insight into Insurance Regulation

As part of the learning on the "Regulation of Insurance Companies" a visit to Lloyd’s was arranged by Professor Rosa M. Lastra, Sir John Lubbock Chair in Banking Law and Chair of the Institute of Banking and Finance Law at the Centre for Commercial Law Studies for Banking and Finance Law LLM students. A group of 18 QMUL students had the unique opportunity to visit Lloyd’s of London, the world’s leading insurance and reinsurance marketplace.

The visit was led by Kevin Lazarus, Solicitor at Lloyd’s of London, who provided an in-depth overview of the legal and regulatory framework governing insurance markets. Students gained first-hand insights into Lloyd’s role as a marketplace for risk, the function of syndicates, and the evolving regulatory landscape shaping the global insurance industry.
