  • 25 April 2025: Dr Antigoni Lykotrafiti and Professor George Leloudas (Swansea University) co-authored the case of the 16th Leiden-Sarin International Air Law Moot Court Competition that took place in Athens, Greece. The co-authors acted also as judges in the competition’s semi-finals.
  • 24 April 2025: Dr Antigoni Lykotrafiti participated in the 16th Leiden IIASL International Air Law Conference, chairing the session “Challenges in Achieving Sustainability in Greece”. The Conference took place in Athens, hosted by the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens.
  • 10 April 2025: Clare Ambrose, 20 Essex Street Chambers, gave a guest talk to out students on ‘Appeals on Points of Law from Arbitral Awards’.
  • 9 April 2025: Mark Mah, Baltic Exchange, gave a guest talk to our students on ‘The Baltic Exchange’.
  • 4 April 2025: Monica Kohli, senior solicitor, Gard (UK) Ltd, and Renata Benning, Claims Executive, Gard (UK) Ltd and CCLS alumna, gave a guest talk to our students on ‘Protection and Indemnity Clubs and Freight, Demurrage and Defence Insurance’.
  • 2 April 2025: Mr Kevin Lazarus and Mr Matteo Schirmer led a tour of Lloyd’s of London for our students on the LLM in International Shipping Law programme.
  • 7 March 2025: Dr Antigoni Lykotrafiti was invited by Professor Marina Efthymiou to give an online guest lecture on Aviation Competition Policy at City Dublin University in Ireland.
  • 20 February 2025: Jon Elvey, President of the London Maritime Arbitrators Association, gave a guest talk to our students on “A Career in Shipping’.
  • 19 November 2024: ISALI practitioner member and QMUL alumnus, Mr Jonathan Moss, Partner / Global Head of Transport Sector / Head of Marine & Trade, DWF, gave a guest lecture on "Transit of Goods by Sea - Essential Documents"
  • 12 November 2024: Queen Mary alumna, Ms Teresa Roussou, associate lawyer, Hogan Lovells (Milan, Italy) gave a guest lecture on "Electronic and Blockchain Bills of Lading"
  • 28 March 2024 - The 3rd EU-Asia Aviation Law Forum - In this forum, three renowned aviation law experts, namely Professor Lalin Kovudhikulrungsri, Dr Antigoni Lykotrafiti and Professor Jae Woon Lee will discuss this transnational development.
  • 7 February 2024 -  Paul Ng (Head of Aviation - Partner, Rajah & Tann, Asia) delivered a masterclass in the law and practice of aircraft and helicopter financing. 
  • 14 September 2023 - Dr Franziska Arnold-Dwyer  co-presented with Professor Gesner Oliveira from FGV on their joint research on "Community-based Climate Risk transfer and Resilience Building" at the VII Research Symposium at FGV from 12-14 September 2023 in Rio de Janeiro.
  • 8 September 2023 - Dr Franziska Arnold-Dwyer presented a paper on 'UK Insurance Regulation post-Brexit' at the European Law Institute Annual Conference in Vienna.
  • 20 June 2023 - Dr Franziska Arnold-Dwyer presented a paper on 'Climate Resilient Development Bonds' in a webinar organised by Queen Mary University of London partner institution FGV.

On March 21, 2024, the LLM students from the Insurance Law and Shipping Law programmes had the opportunity to visit the Lloyd’s of London building, guided by a representative from the Lloyd’s Market Association.
