Mechanistic studies in humans that explain why there are complications after trauma, major surgery, sepsis and other causes of critical illness are required to improve outcomes.

 

Using a bedside to bench experimental approach, we aim to identify mechanistic targets that feed into phase 2/3 and pragmatic large clinical trials.
