Kate Mackenzie is a researcher at the University of St Andrews. Her work brings together and analyses conceptions of childhood in francophone African fiction and in international children’s rights law, drawing attention to the interaction of individual and structure and to relationships of power. Kate’s research is informed by her previous work in the UK Diplomatic Service, including in the fields of international human rights law and conflict resolution in Central Africa.
