A Gendered Crime of Trafficking in Human Beings is an ad hoc workshop hosted by the Centre for Law and Society in a Global Context (CLSGC)
At its 69th session, held from 19 February to 9 March 2018, in Geneva, Switzerland, the Committee on the Elimination of Discrimination Against Women (UN CEDAW) decided to elaborate a General Recommendation on Trafficking in Women and Girls in the Context of Global Migration. The aim of the General Recommendation is to interpret the definition, scope and expectations regarding States parties’ obligations in relation to article 6 of the Convention to suppress all forms of trafficking in women and girls, ensuring that the human rights of women and girls are respected, protected and fulfilled in accordance with international law.
