Dr Sabine Weiland

Principal Investigator at ICL and WP4 lead

Sabine Weiland is Associate Professor of Political Science at the Catholic University of Lille, affiliated with the European School of Political and Social Sciences (ESPOL). She is the Head of the MA Food Politics and Sustainable Development. From 2018 to 2023, she was the Director of the ESPOL-Lab Research Centre for European and International Politics.

Sabine holds a PhD in social sciences from the University of Göttingen, Germany. She participated in various national, European and international research projects in the field of environmental and sustainability governance, food politics, and science-policy interface. Before her appointment at the Catholic University of Lille, she was working at the Helmholtz Centre for Environmental Research – UFZ, Leipzig, Freie Universität Berlin, Catholic University Louvain, and IDDRI/Sciences-Po Paris. Further, she is involved in the Earth System Governance ‘Taskforce on the Sustainable Development Goals’.
