Following her degree, she pursued a German Doctorate working on mast cell immunology at the department of Dermatology, Humboldt University, while working part-time in two private practices with a special interest in periodontology and implantology. She was awarded the research degree “Dr med. dent.” for her thesis “FGF-2 synthesis and release of human dermal mast cells” in 2006. In 2005 Anna Krajewski was accepted as a specialist trainee in Periodontology at the dental institute of Cologne University. She was awarded the title of Specialist in Periodontology of the German society of Periodontology in 2010. In 2008 Anna Krajewski relocated to London and has since worked at the dental institute QMUL in various different roles such as part-time clinical lecturer and research fellow. She has been involved in various research projects and the teaching of undergraduate and postgraduate students. In 2019 she started a part-time PhD program at the Centre of Oral Clinical Research under the supervision of Nikos Donos investigating the influence of periodontal therapy on the subgingival microbiome. She has previously been involved in clinical studies as a therapist and calibrated examiner. She is interested in clinical research and how a better understanding of the individual’s susceptibility to periodontal disease could inform treatment choices.
