The Faculty of Social Sciences and Health at Durham University will be hosting an interdisciplinary and online PGR Conference on 20th November 2020 on the theme “Global Challenges.”
The deadline to accept oral presentation proposals for the conference has been extended to 17:00 on Friday, 6th November 2020.
The Organising Committee invites proposals under the over-arching Global Challenges theme. Papers may address issues in education, human rights, ethics, physical resources, business and finance, climate change, social order / disorder, justice, equity, mental health and international policy and relations. Besides oral presentations led by PGR students, the conference will feature a plenary lecture and workshops on academic networking and writing for publication.
Oral papers (presented online) will be arranged in interdisciplinary sessions. Please suggest up to three keywords that summarise your research. These will be used to group papers for presentation. Oral presentations will be 15 minutes with 5 minutes for questions.
Abstract submissions
To submit your abstract, please complete the abstract submission template [DOC 16KB] in Word. Your abstract of up to 250 words should describe the research you intend to present. The abstract will be published in the Conference Handbook with your name and institution. Please state if your email address can also be included. Send the completed template to the Conference email (ssh.pgrconf@durham.ac.uk) in word/ pdf format. Data are stored for the purposes of the Conference only and will be deleted by 1st April 2021.
Do not include large format photographs, graphs or data tables, and do not add supplementary material. The deadline for receipt of abstracts is 5pm on Friday, 6th November 2020. Note that you must register separately for the event also: https://www.dur.ac.uk/conference.booking/details/?id=1568
