Monday 21 March 2022 – 10:00-14:30
Queen Mary became a signatory to the Concordat to Support the Career Development of Researchers in January 2021. The Concordat is an agreement between all the stakeholders involved in academic research to foster inclusive and supportive research environments and employment conditions, to ensure that researchers can focus on their development alongside their research, and be ready for the next stage of their career, whether in the academic sector or beyond.
This commitment builds on a 10-year history of implementing the Concordat at The University, evidenced by our HR Excellence in Research Award (awarded in 2012). Signatory status commits us to an annual action planning and updating cycle that is informed by researchers and their managers through our Concordat Implementation Group, and the approval of our Senior Executive Team and Council, it was published on our Concordat website.
To commemorate this, we have put together a programme of talks from external speakers and Queen Mary staff about Postdoc careers, culture, and about how to maximise your time while at Queen Mary.
This is an online event intended for postdoctoral researchers (including research fellows) and the academic staff members who manage and mentor them.
PhD students who are considering a postdoctoral position at Queen Mary are also welcome to attend.
