A Postdoctoral Research Assistant position is available in the School of Biological and Chemical Sciences (Comparative Cognition lab). Applications are open until 25th April 2021.
The post-holder will work with Dr Elisabetta Versace developing artificial intelligence models or learning, based on experiments with domestic chicks, on a Leverhulme funded project titled “Generalisation from limited experience: how to solve the problem of induction”. The role involves expertise in artificial intelligence/modelling and animal cognition.You will have a PhD (or be close to completion) and skills to independently develop artificial intelligence models of learning and generalisation. Familiarity with Bayesian modelling will be beneficial and you should be confident in programming (e.g. Python), and using machine learning tools. Previous experience with animals is desirable.
