Queen Mary's PhD Student Induction is open to all beginning PhD students. Induction runs three times a year, once at the beginning of each semester. It is a chance for the Doctoral College to welcome you formally. You will be able to meet the Doctoral College Director as well as the Deputy-Deans for research and find out more about the life of a PhD student at Queen Mary and the training and support you can expect to receive.
The 2021/22 Semester 3 induction will take place as a series of online and in-person sessions from 26th to 28th April 2021.
The first two sessions will be held via Zoom. We also invite students to join us for an in-person session for Thursday, 28th April 2021.
Please register by going to cpdbookings.qmul.ac.uk and search for course code DC104-WEB (the subsequent session with course code DC105-WEB is linked so students should be able to book both sessions in one go.) for the remote sessions. Registered attendees will be sent the session link.
The in-person session can be found on cpdbookings.qmul.ac.uk with course code DC110.
The full programme is available on the Doctoral College training pages: https://www.qmul.ac.uk/doctoralcollege/phd-students/training/events/
Please note that access to the Course Booking System is a two-stage login process. To access the course booking system on www.cpdbookings.qmul.ac.uk students need their Queen Mary IT log in first.
Then students will need to register a user account on the course booking system itself. To do so, please go to ‘Register’ (third tab at the top of the page) and complete the requested information to create a login.
Following this, students can use the ‘Login’ tab (second tab at the top of the page) to log on to the system and book (or if required, cancel) courses.
Any students who do not have their Queen Mary IT log in yet please email doctoralcollege@qmul.ac.uk to register.
