It's that time of the year again! The Research and Innovation Awards nominations are officially open, and we're excited to invite all eligible staff members to participate. But this year, there's a twist – we're shaking things up with a peer review shortlisting process, making it an even more inclusive celebration of our collective achievements.

The R&I Awards are a testament to the outstanding contributions our research community makes to the world. They not only recognize innovation and research but also celebrate the vibrant and unique research culture at Queen Mary. It's a chance to applaud the talented individuals who make our work not just exceptional but possible.
What's New?
This year, we're introducing peer review for shortlisting, and we want you to be a part of it! We're actively seeking staff from academic, professional services, technical support, and postgrad students to join our esteemed team of shortlisters. Stay tuned for updates on our panel chairs – experts drawn from high-profile funders, professional organizations, and other key research stakeholders.

There are eight categories open to ALL eligible Queen Mary staff, regardless of grade or department. Whether you're an individual contributor or part of a dynamic team, there's a category for you:
How to Apply:
This year, applications for all categories are self-nominations. It's simple – just submit a brief compulsory and anonymized endorsement from any other QM staff or student through a short online form. The deadline for applications is Friday 1 March, 2024.

Mark your calendars! Shortlists will be announced on or just after Monday, 18 March, 2024. The grand reveal of winners and two highly commended applications in each category will take place at the award ceremony on Thursday, 2 May, 2024.
