Take part in our Women in Science and Engineering (WISE) taster session!
WISE is hosting a Q&A session to help you understand what the group is, how it works and how you can get involved.

On 24 February from 4-5pm, WISE is hosting a Q&A session featuring committee members presenting what the network does, as well as answering your questions. You’ll find out how to get involved with WISE, as well as what sort of events we host throughout the year. You can sign up via this form.
WISE@QMUL was originally set up in 2009 as an informal student group for discussion of gender balance in STEM subjects. The network is led by PhD students but is open to any and all students looking to celebrate gender equality and diversity in STEM. The ongoing mission is to establish informal links with women working within STEM sectors, who can act as role models, provide information and discuss a wide range of career paths, and provide encouragement for students and early career researchers.
Each year WISE holds a range of events and activities to:
- Examine the current status quo by raising awareness and sparking discussion;
- Establish lasting networks via informal networking and exposure to diverse role models;
- Expand career path options within STEM by introducing members to unconventional careers and giving advice on traditional careers; and
- Equip future leaders by catalysing personal development for all, with particular focus on communication skills and diversity management.
These events are open to all and range from careers seminars, workshops, and networking events to public engagement and school outreach activities.
WISE membership is free and open to anyone and everyone across all campuses. Find out more about how you can get evolved at our Q&A session on 24 February at 4pm.
