Training calendar

On this page you will find both our semester training programme PDF, which lists Doctoral College training events week-by-week, and the interactive Training Calendar. These should help you to find training activities to build your skills in different research development areas. All activities listed are open to all Queen Mary PGR students. 

Semester training calendar

The semester training calendar contains the details of all training events in this current semester, listed on a week-by-week basis. You’ll also find the details of which Training and Development Pillars each training course supports, helping you to build a well-rounded skillset and target certain areas for development. You’ll find links to book onto each course included.

The training listed in this calendar is provided by the Doctoral College, the Library Services, and the London Interdisciplinary Social Sciences (LISS) Doctoral Training Partnership.

Interactive training calendar

You can use our interactive training calendar to view training offered by schools and institutes at Queen Mary, other central departments at the university, as well as external training that is offered both locally and nationally. This features a range of other events that you can attend, including events held by partner institutions.

 

The Training Calendar is set to default to Week view. You can also view the Month or Agenda views by using the tabs on the top right of the calendar. 

Move through the calendar using the blue arrows on the top left, or select the timeframe you want by clicking the dropdown arrow next to the date. 

Each activity on the Training Calendar is colour-coded to correspond with its provider. The list of colour codes and associated providers is below. 

You can select specific calendars by clicking the dropdown arrow at the top right (next to ‘Agenda’) and toggling different calendars on and off. 

Light turquoise: Doctoral College events.

 


Green: Central events (ie, events run by Queen Mary central services departments, such as the library).

 


Red color thumbnailRed: External events.

 


Dark blue thumbnailDark blue: Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences (HSS). 

 


Light Purple ThumbnailLight purple: Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry (FMD). 

 


Yellow color thumbnailYellow: Faculty of Science and Engineering (S&E). 

 


PURPLE color thumbnailDark purple: Research Centres and Research Institutes.
