Nick Bryan-Kinns and two of his PhD students, Ben Bengler and Dave Meckin, have been invited to exhibit their work on interactive sound at the “Design Can Change!” exhibition in Shenzhen, China.
Nick Bryan-Kinns and two of his PhD students, Ben Bengler and Dave Meckin, have been invited to exhibit their work on interactive sound at the “Design Can Change!” exhibition in Shenzhen, China. The exhibition is part of the 9th China International Cultural Industries Fair 2013 (Shenzhen) where over 210,000 visitors are expected. Ben will be showing Polymetros, the multi person music making experience recently exhibited to great acclaim at the V&A, and Dave will be showing his interactive physical instruments, MoosikMacheens, which are undergoing extensive evaluation with children with special educational needs. As well as showing Daisyphone, the world’s first global jam on smartphones, Nick has also been honoured to have been invited to give a speech at the opening of the exhibition and at the Hunan University main campus in Changsha province. He will be following up the prestigious exhibition with the signing of Memorandum of Agreement with Hunan University in the area of Interactive Digital Media. Hunan University is one of the top Universities in China being in both the 211 and 985 projects, having excellent Arts and Design Faculties, and boasting a history stretching back to Confucius.
