The FP7 LIREC project, coordinated at EECS by Peter McOwan is coming to end and we are throwing a party in London on June 26th from 19.00pm to 22.30pm to reflect on how we might live with robots or digital companions.
Throughout the project, scientists have explored how to design digital and interactive companions who can develop and read emotions and act cross-platform. LIREC brought together the world of dog behaviour studies, social science, design & computer science to design future real world applications.
LIREC scientists will gather for an evening of discussions on their vision of future social robots. The discussion will be moderated by Prof. Noel Sharkey, Professor of Artificial Intelligence and Robotics, best known for his appearances as an expert on the BBC 2 television series Robot Wars and Techno Games and Bright Sparks, a science and engineering challenge series, for BBC Northern Ireland.
