Which modules did you most enjoy and were there any academics that had a strong influence on shaping your time and studies here?
From last year, my favourite module was Automata. I had never touched upon this topic in my previous studies before university, so it introduced completely new concepts to me. It challenged me to understand finite automata, regular expressions and Turing machines more.
Are you a member of any societies or attend any industry events during your time at Queen Mary? If so which and what did you gain from them?
I attended the EECS department’s weekly sessions for industrial placements, which gave me the opportunity to hear from selected perspective employers. In addition, I joined Skate Society and have become a committee member for them. I have been fortunate to partake in organising events and maintaining our society’s funding.
What kind of careers/employability support do you get during your studies?
Queen Mary has always ensured that everyone has multiple options for support through their exclusive events or programs to their students. For example, I can go to their Careers and Enterprise Center so that I can request CV reviews or book mock interviews.
What do you hope to do after graduation?
After I’ve finished my studies, I hope to utilise the knowledge I’ve been taught at Queen Mary into a full-time role. I aspire to enter a purposeful or people-oriented tech role.
