PhD students and early career researchers meeting about race and racialisation

When: Wednesday, October 30, 2024, 3:00 PM - 4:30 PM
Where: SCR, ArtsTwo building, Queen Mary University of London, Mile End Road, E1 4NS, London

An informal coffee afternoon for PhD students, postdoctoral fellows, or other early career researchers who are working on histories of race and racialisation, and on critical race theories, modern and premodern.

The Institute for the Humanities and Social Sciences Race Research Network, in collaboration with the School of History, is establishing an informal network for PhD students, postdoctoral fellows, or other early career researchers who are working on histories of race and racialisation, and on critical race theories, modern and premodern, in some aspect of their work. This is a new initiative and is intended to provide an informal, supportive space for people to meet other students and postdocs, across different faculties, working on similar topics. This group is open to those just beginning to explore critical race studies, as well as those more familiar with the field.

Light refreshments will be provided. All PGRs and ECRs working on race are warmly welcome, whatever stage of your study you are at - new students or faculty are especially encouraged to join.

If you'd like to come, please sign up using this form. If you can't attend but would be interested in joining future events, please sign up to the mailing list using the same form and we will contact you about any events later in the year. If you have any questions about the network, please contact Lily (l.i.freeman-jones@qmul.ac.uk).

*This event will be photographed. These materials will be used for internal and external promotional purposes only by Queen Mary University of London. If you object to appearing in the photographs, please let our photographer know on the day.
