Coimbra annual network meeting and transferable skills workshop, 20-21 May 2019
Annual Meeting III and Transferable Skills VI training
Lead: KI/QMUL
The EVOluTION Annual Network Meeting and Sixth Transferable Skills Training took place in Coimbra, Portugal from Monday 20th – Tuesday 21st May, 2019. The meeting was organised jointly by the KI and QMUL in Coimbra to be co-located with the ESCI 2019 conference later on that week. The meeting was an opportunity for the ESRs to update the network about their research and answer questions from the audience, as their individual projects are moving towards their end later this year.
Besides the ESR presentations, the research, training and networking agenda included the annual exec and steering board meetings, a journal club for the ESRs and individual work package conversations held in the sidelines of the programme. Three external high profile scientists were invited to complete the programme by giving talks on scientific topics as well as career advice. The official dinner was the opportunity for everyone to engage informally with each other and enjoy some local cuisine after a long day of work.
The VI Transferable Skills training focused on knowledge creation, social innovation, research management & leadership and featured presentations by experienced trainers which gave the ESRs useful insights and practical transferable skills for the future.
