Maastricht Workshop
Scientific Workshop I
Leads: UMA and NattoPharma
Support: KI and UCD
The first EVOluTION scientific workshop and transferable skills training event was held in Maastricht, the Netherlands from the 18th – 20th of January, 2017. The workshop, entitled “Dietary Impact on Health” trained ESRS on the opportunities that nutraceuticals hold for the control of widespread, common diseases. As this was the first gathering of all the ESRs, each student gave a short presentation on their proposed project. The presentations were all given in the style of a Tedx talk and all the students were coached prior to the workshop by Jean-Paul Toonen, Communications Expert from T36 Media. Some of the talks from the day can be viewed below.
On the final day, ESRs took part in a transferable skills training event: "Knowledge creation: Business Entrepreneurship and Innovation". The objective of this module was to train ESRs in micro-enterprise (SME’s) and to introduce them to the role of corporate entrepreneurship. Moreover, it increased their awareness of key business issues inherent to the biopharmaceutical industry, including managerial organisation and financial aspects.
