WP2: Endogenous tissue protective mediators

One way to deliver the over-arching aim of EVOluTION on therapeutic innovation is through the exploitation of mediators of tissue protection. Cutting-edge approaches will be taken to predict and identify new activities by known compounds (eg. Vitamin K derivatives) by the BioHybrid™ system. Alongside investigations on Vitamin K, focus on the mechanisms behind nitric-oxide delivery to attenuate vascular inflammation as in stroke will be established. Gaseous delivery through inhalation will be used. The scientific training of this WP covers several aspects of drug initiated receptor biology, including signalling switch in cell phenotype, OMICs, integrated in-vivo systems and delivery systems.
