Visibility matters- A researcher-generated resource to provide impact for inclusive research culture in Medicine and Dentistry
The Visibility Matters Project is supported by Queen Mary University of London's Enhancing Research and Innovation Cultures fund, and is dedicated to fostering inclusivity and representation for individuals with disabilities, neurodivergent experiences, and those within the LGBTQIA+ community. By amplifying diverse voices and advocating for accessible and equitable spaces, we strive to create a community in Higher Education where everyone is seen, heard, and valued.
A team of student and staff researchers led by Prof Aylin Baysan, Institute of Dentistry and Dr Sadani Cooray, William Harvey Research Institute, initiated a research-generated resource highlighting the achievements of researchers from self-identified under-represented groups around the world.
We believe that visibility is a powerful tool for social progress. Together, we can build a more inclusive culture since diversity awareness is about recognising and appreciating differences in a respectful and empathic way.
