The Queen Mary Institute for the Humanities and Social Sciences (IHSS) was established to showcase the disciplinary, cross-disciplinary and inter-disciplinary research strengths of humanities and social sciences research at Queen Mary University of London, and to enable leading scholars from around the world to engage and contribute to this research environment.
A key part of the Institute’s activity is the Distinguished Visiting Fellowship programme. This scheme enables scholars from around the world to spend up to one month visiting the Institute and the Faculty to engage with the particular thematic programme of activity.
The scheme is most suited to those wishing to spend part of a sabbatical leave period at Queen Mary University of London. The scheme covers the on-campus accommodation costs for Distinguished Visiting Fellows.
In addition, applications from those wishing to be considered for either the British Academy or Leverhulme Early Career Fellows schemes are strongly encouraged to consider the Queen Mary Institute for the Humanities and Social Sciences (IHSS) as an intellectual base.
