Professor Eyal Poleg (School of History) present his findings of the project Hidden in Plain Sight: Historical And Scientific Analysis Of Premodern Sacred Books. 

About the Presenter

Professor Eyal Poleg (School of History) is a historian of objects and faith. In 2024 - 26, he leads a major AHRC research project — Hidden in Plain Sight: Historical And Scientific Analysis Of Premodern Sacred Books. The project is a collaboration between Queen Mary University of LondonCambridge University LibraryCambridge Museum of Archaeology and Anthropologythe National Library of Wales and other leading libraries. This work brings together historians, scientists, curators and conservators in developing new technologies for studying historical books and objects. It employs a range of technologies, from micro-CT scanning to DNA analysis, to learn how books and amulets were used, mutilated and worshipped.
