Queen Mary is proud to be celebrating International Women's Day on the 8th March.
International Women’s Day is a global day that celebrates the achievements of women. On the 8th of March, Queen Mary's diverse community will join many others around the world to #BreakTheBias. This year, International Women's day falls close to the first anniversary of Sarah Everard's tragic murder; a solemn reminder of gender-based violence faced by women. I am proud to say our University has made incredible progress advancing gender equality and to meet our diversity objectives set out in Strategy 2030:• Our senior decision-making committees are more diverse and representative than ever before;• We have promoted a record number of Black and Ethnic Minority women through our Academic Promotions Process;• We continue to narrow our Gender Pay Gap;• We have closed our value-added gender attainment gap. At Queen Mary, we are all, staff and students, responsible for fostering a culture of inclusion, free from bias, where everyone can meet their potential and thrive. To support our continued progress, all staff are asked to complete Introducing Inclusion, The University's mandatory e-learning, designed to #BreakTheBias and tackle issues of equality.
