The School of Biology and Chemical Sciences has recently benefited from a £4.5m refurbishment of the G.E. Fogg Building which houses Biology and Psychology and £1m investment in the Joseph Priestley building which houses Chemistry and Biochemistry.
This investment has gone towards building new research laboratories, as well as investing over £1m in state-of-the-art equipment for cell biology, structural biology and aquatic biology. We now house a plant growth facility; controlled environment rooms; cold rooms; one of the largest CO2 flux monitoring facilities in the UK; and marine and freshwater aquaria, as well as a new genome sequencing service that is unique to the UK.
