Training
Adoption of technology for our teaching and research is accelerating at a rapid pace, but so is the sophistication of cybercriminals.
In order safeguard Queen Mary against data loss, financial damage and reputational harm, QMUL provides mandatory cyber security and GDPR training for all staff
We have launched the latest update to the Queen Mary Cyber Security and GDPR training on 20th December 2024, using the latest course content from UCISA developed jointly by a group of UK universities.
This new, more relevant and engaging learning content will equip you with the knowledge and tools to identify cyber threats, make informed decisions, and prevent incidents before they happen. It also consolidates both GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation) and security modules into one comprehensive learning program, better aligned with the cyber security and data protection concepts relevant for higher education. You can access the UCISA training through the following link: Cyber Security and GDPR training.
In addition, staff from the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry can now upload their NHS information security training certificate onto the CPD platform as a recognised equivalent of the Cyber Security and GDPR training.
We recommend undertaking the cybersecurity module as soon as possible. Thank you for your continuous dedication in maintaining a secure digital environment for Queen Mary and for making cybersecurity a shared priority.
If you would like to contact the QMUL Information Security Team about any aspect of the Cyber Security and GDPR training, please email servicedesk@qmul.ac.uk which will raise a ticket.
