The ITS Research group provide computing facilities, support and resources to assist researchers in performing cutting-edge research at Queen Mary. We offer a wide range of services to meet the needs of researchers across the three faculties as well as the Life Sciences Institute.
The team provide support for the exceptional IT requirements of researchers complementing and augmenting those offered by the other areas of IT Services, particularly in the area of High-Performance Computing.
The Apocrita system has been specifically designed to meet the needs of a wide variety of research in the areas of our three faculties, hosting a wide range research applications, including GPU-accelerated Machine Learning workloads, low latency Infiniband networking for parallel jobs favoured by astronomy and computational chemistry, plus high-performance storage to aid genomic analyses.
