Voicemail – Reference Guide

Accessing your voicemail 
Whether you are a Standard Ringcentral Softphone user or a NICE InContact Softphone user (also known as ACD Agent) there are two ways to access your Voicemail account: 

  • Using MS Teams Ringcentral Softphone 
  • Using any telephone - external to the university such as a home phone or Mobile Phone 

For a Yealink handset there are also two ways to access your Voicemail account: 

  • Via the Yealink Handset  
  • Using any telephone - external to the university such as a home phone or a Mobile Phone. 

Softphone –accessing voicemail via MS Teams Ringcentral 

To listen to your voicemail click on the Ringcentral tab in MS Teams and then ‘Voicemails’. Voicemail reference guide 1
When a voicemail is received it will appear in bold in the ‘Voicemail’ menu. 
The ‘Phone’ tab will also appear in bold with an indicator beside it.

Click on the voicemail and press the play button.

To call the user back click on the phone icon.  Voicemail reference guide 4

To download the recording click on the download button beside the recording. 
 
If you no longer require the voicemail click on the delete button by clicking the bin icon in the top right corner of the screen.

To change other voicemail settings click on the cog and then ‘voicemail settings’.

Note: when a voicemail is received a copy of it along with its transcript is also emailed to the user.  

Handset - accessing voicemail from Yealink phone 

When a voicemail is received a red flashing light appears on the top of the phone. An envelope icon also appears on the LCD screen.

To listen to voicemail pick up handset and press the envelope icon.  

Enter your PIN and then ‘#’.  
 
Note: the PIN will have been issued when the phone was initially setup.

Accessing voicemail from any telephone 
You can check your voicemail for Softphone and Yealink handset from any phone. To do this: 

  • Dial your full telephone number 
  • Press the ‘asterisk’ key (*) and enter your voicemail PIN, followed by the ‘hash’ key (#).  

Then listen to the options or press ‘one’ to listen to your voice messages.
