About the Role

Applications are invited for a Clinical Teaching Fellow post within the William Harvey Research Institute (WHRI) and Barts Health NHS Trust. These posts are to support and develop the education and research strategy of the Institute. The successful candidates will support the delivery of the existing Critical Care Medicine PGT programme offered through WHRI, as well as developing and delivering the new MSc in Perioperative medicine.

Candidates are required to have an MBBS (or equivalent), GMC accreditation. Ideally the applicants should have experience in teaching at undergraduate or postgraduate level in large or small group settings and have some understanding of student support needs. They should have clinical experience in the subject areas of critical care medicine and perioperative care. 

About the Department

The WHRI consists of eight institutes with over 500 staff. The Institute aims to deliver research and teaching excellence across three general themes: cardiovascular, inflammation and endocrinology within which are also embedded groups of excellence in Intensive Care, Perioperative Medicine and Renal medicine.

The educational part of the post will be based at the Charterhouse and the Whitechapel Campuses in London, the clinical portion will be based in the Adult Critical Care Unit and the department of Anaesthesia at the Royal London Hospital. It is full time (35 hours per week), 12 month appointment, with an expected start date of 7.08.2024. The starting salary will be Clinical Teaching Fellow, in the range of £38,619 - 55,336 pa plus £1,470 London Weighting Allowance pa.
