About the Role

 Applicants are invited to apply for the above post within the Translational Cardiovascular Therapeutic group (Ken Suzuki laboratory) within the Centre for Microvascular Research, Faculty of Medicine, Queen Mary University of London (QMUL). Prof Suzuki’s interdisciplinary laboratory conducts a range of translational research to develop advanced stem cell therapy for heart failure, studies of reparative macrophages, post-operative adhesions, etc. The project, in which you will be engaged, is exciting cutting-edge translational research in tissue-repairing macrophages. You are expected to have sufficient experience and knowledge in in vivo models. You will be able to enjoy this challenging project and accumulate precious experience and skill/knowledge in this area in the internationally competitive laboratory. The work will be based in the William Harvey Research Institute (Charterhouse Square Campus, London). This Institute has a strong record in preclinical and clinical therapeutic development and has recently made a large expansion forward in cardiovascular research with several large grants.

About You

The successful candidate should hold a postgraduate degree and/or relevant professional qualification (i.e. PhD, MD) in medicine, medical research or life science. Demonstrable experience and skills in in vivo procedures, i.e., creation of disease models, with a publication record appropriate for the career stage, is essential.

The project you will be engaged in will be taken place in the Wiliam Harvey Research Institute, Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry. This Institute is a world-leading centre in translational medical research, and all required facility and equipment required in the project is in place within the institute.
