About the Role
Applicants are invited to apply for a 18-month full-time post-doctoral research assistant position to join the group of Drs M Perretti and J Chen. The team works on resolution pharmacology and investigate mechanisms and biological signatures associated with pro-resolving therapies. The particular emphasis of the project will be to determine soluble and cellular determinants associated with heart attack and with the potential benefits due to administration of RTP-026.

About You

The researcher will perform experiments associated with a clinical trial of an annexin A1-mimetic, RTP-026, tested in heart attack patients. The work will require sophisticated flow cytometry analyses, ELISA and other biomarker analyses as well as secure storage of clinical samples.

About the Institute/Project

The position is at the Centre for Biochemical Pharmacology which brings together a group of leading clinical and non-clinical scientists researching the cellular and molecular basis of inflammation, rheumatic, and cardiovascular diseases. The Centre is based within the picturesque Charterhouse Square Campus in the heart of the City of London and within the world-renowned William Harvey Research Institute at the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry, Queen Mary University of London (QMUL). The particular emphasis of the project will be to determine soluble and cellular determinants associated with heart attack and with the potential benefits due to administration of RTP-026.

The appointed person will undertake research investigations under the supervision of Drs Chen and Perretti, joining a larger team formed by 5 PhD students, 6 PDRAs and 2 RA.
