About the Role

We are seeking an experienced senior manager to join the Institute of Health Sciences Education as Deputy Institute Manager, initially for a 12-month contract but with the possibility of becoming permanent. This is a new role within the Institute, and you will be a motivated and proactive individual who can provide essential and effective leadership. You will join a friendly team to deliver high quality operational management at an exciting time for the Institute.

You will play a key role in the management of the Institute, including contributing to business and strategic planning, financial and human resources management. You will have the ability to exercise authority and provide leadership as well as exceptional organisational skills to balance competing pressures.

About You

The successful candidate will have significant experience of independent management in a similar environment as well as experience of implementing HR and recruitment policies and procedures. They will have experience of leading a team including performance management and development, along with previous experience in higher education or the health sector.

One of six Institutes forming the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry, the Institute for Health Sciences Education (IHSE) is responsible for the delivery of the faculty’s medical degree programmes. Together with partner hospitals and primary care practices, we provide an innovative, forward-thinking, and responsive curriculum to our passionate, diverse student body.
