School Tasking Champion of Champions 2024

Queen Mary Legal Advice Centre accompanied Team Slytherclaw from Christ Church Primary School to compete in the School Tasking Champion of Champions 2024!

School Tasking is an outreach project and StreetLaw initiative that enables young people to learn about the law in a fun and interactive way in the style of the hit TV show Taskmaster.

The QMLAC rolled out the project at four local primary schools in Tower Hamlets this academic year, and hosted the South Regional Final in April, with one of our school teams, Team Slytherclaw from Christ Church Primary School, progressing to the Champion of Champions.

The Champion of Champions took place at the Warwick Arts Centre on 18 June 2024. Team Slytherclaw, representing the South, competed against teams from the other regions: Ireland, the North, the West and the Middle.

On the day, Team Slytherclaw won the best trophy task, meaning that the 2025 trophy will be based on their trophy design for this year, which was a marvelously sparkly pineapple!

The competition itself was hosted by Taskmaster's Little Alex Horne himself, and the teams all competed bravely in front of a huge audience of around 1000 people.

The tasks ranged from dressing a team-member up as a snowman to quick-fire memory tasks. You can see a short film summarising the day here: School Tasking Champion of Champions (youtube.com)

The team from St Michaels RC Primary, representing the North, were crowned the Champions of Champions on the day, a huge congratulations to them.

A huge thanks to Dr Ali Struthers and the wonderful School Tasking team for putting on such a great day. Everyone had a great time, and we at QMLAC were very proud of our team from Christ Church, who were adventurous and brave. A thanks also to the staff and parents who supported Team Slytherclaw on the day. We’re looking forward to next year’s competition already!
