Time: 6:15 - 8:45pm Venue: University of London Institute in Paris (ULIP), 9 Rue de Constantine, 75007 Paris, France
We are delighted to announce a joint seminar between the Energy Law Institute at the Centre for Commercial Law Studies in Paris and the University of London Institute in Paris.
This seminar will consider Climate Change and the impact of the Paris Agreement 2015 on climate mitigation. The urgency of the IPCC Reports on climate change mandates fast and extensive action by all Member States. States submitted their Nationally Determined Contributions under the Paris Agreement and this year's COP 25 in Spain under the Chilean government in December 2019 will consider their implementation. Climate crisis seems inevitable and the energy transition - a sector linked to emissions and security - seems to be slow. The move towards sustainable power generation requires significant long term investment. Ultimately climate change will require us all to fundamentally change how we live.
There is no fee to attend
Please join us for networking drinks afterwards.
The ELI provides a focus for the development of energy and natural resources law, the training of energy lawyers through its specialist LLMs in Energy and Natural Resources Law programmes in Paris and London, and the promotion of a broader understanding of this important sector. James Dallas, Executive Director of the Institute, notes "Our aim is to provide a first class student experience; with world class teaching and a broad curriculum, anchored in the real world of the sector". Our teaching philosophy is “to blend academic and practitioner rigour”. We work with leading international law firms, energy companies and energy consultancies.
