QMUL law academics advise House of Lords Committee on future direction of its scrutiny work
Academics from the School of Law, Queen Mary University of London, took part in the seminar on the EU Agendas on Migration and Security, organised by the Home Affairs Sub-Committee of the House of Lords EU Committee on 1 July 2015.
The purpose of the seminar was to brief the Committee on current issues in EU migration and security with the view of informing the Committee’s planning for future work.
The QMUL delegation was led by Professor Valsamis Mitsilegas, who chaired the seminar and provided the context and overarching policy overview on the seminar sessions on immigration and security. Dr Violeta Moreno-Lax briefed the Committee on EU border operations at sea and Dr Saskia Hufnagel addressed the Committee on issues of policing and organised crime in the EU.
