Shazia Choudhry will give evidence to an All Party Parliamentary Group hearing on Domestic Violence at the House of Commons

Published:

Shazia Choudhry, Reader in Law at Queen Mary University of London, will give evidence to an All Party Parliamentary Group hearing on Domestic Violence at the House of Commons on 2 December along with Caroline Dinenage MP, Sir James Munby (President of the Family Division) and Baroness Tyler of Enfield. She will speak on her specialist subject area which is whether the family court protects the human rights of survivors of domestic abuse and their children. It is being chaired by Jess Phillips MP.

This follows on from her recent work in advising Women's Aid (a national charity which works with victims of domestic abuse and violence against women) and also her appointment last year as a Specialist Adviser to the Joint Committee on Human Rights Inquiry into Violence against Women and Girls which reported in early 2015.
