Professor Dr Maxi Scherer gave the Keynote opening remarks at the SCC Centennial Symposium 'Arbitrating for Peace'

Professor Maxi Scherer, Chair in International Arbitration, Dispute Resolution and Energy Law at Queen Mary University of London (QMUL), gave the Keynote opening remarks at the 'SCC Centennial Symposium "Arbitrating for Peace"'.

The event was organized at the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the International Arbitration Institute of the Stockholm Chamber of Commerce, and was proceeded the evening before by a gala dinner with more than 700 guests from all around the world and the screening of a film “Quiet Triumph - How Arbitration Changed the World”.

Other guests and speakers at the symposium included Dr Nabil Elaraby, former Secretary General of the League of the Arab States; H.E Judge Abdulqawi Yusuf, Vice President of the International Court of Justice; Dr Mojtaba Kazazi, former Executive Head of the United Nations Compensation Commission (UNCC); Lisa J. Grosh, Assistant Legal Adviser at the International Claims and Investment Disputes in the US Department of State; and Professor Ove Bring, Professor Emeritus of International Law at Stockholm University.
