Penny Green, Professor of Law and Globalisation and Director of the International State Crime Initiative (ISCI) at Queen Mary University of London (QMUL), spoke to CNN about the Pope not referring specifically to the Rohingya during his recent trip to Myanmar. She said: “Well, I think I am more disappointed by the fact that he actually went to Myanmar. And by going and by talking with General Min Aung Hlaing, who has been conducting and leading these terror attacks against the Rohingya and by speaking with Aung San Suu Ki, he’s actually legitimatising, I think, the genocidal regime in Myanmar.”
