India’s ThePrint has recently unveiled its latest list of intellectuals to watch in the coming decade, with Queen Mary’s Mohsin Bhat earning a well-deserved spot. This list, the first since 2018, highlights leading thinkers who are reshaping the landscape of politics and other critical fields.
The selection process was curated by a panel of distinguished experts, including Yogendra Yadav, senior fellow at the Centre for the Study of Developing Societies (CSDS) and columnist; Vir Sanghvi, senior editor and commentator; Milan Vaishnav, senior fellow at Carnegie; and Hilal Ahmed, associate professor and author at CSDS. These experts recognised individuals who are pushing boundaries in geostrategic affairs, economics, social science, and political thought.
Mohsin Bhat was highlighted in the list for his, “stellar work on citizenship, hate crimes, majoritarianism, and democratic accountability.” They commented that, “His research stands out for its timeliness and depth, tackling some of the most pressing challenges facing Indian democracy today. Few scholars have examined these issues with such clarity and precision, making Bhat’s work particularly impactful.”
The School of Law at Queen Mary is incredibly proud of Mohsin’s recognition and congratulate him on this achievement. Mohsin commented, “I am delighted to have been recognised for my work for ThePrint and look forward to continuing my research that will hopefully be insightful.”
