Queen Mary’s Professor Maxi Scherer to be the next President of the LCIA Court
The London Court of International Arbitration (LCIA) is one of the world’s leading international institutions for commercial dispute resolution.

Maxi Scherer, Professor in International Arbitration, Dispute Resolution and Energy Law at Queen Mary University of London, was appointed by the LCIA Board on the recommendation of the LCIA Court, where she has been Vice President for the last four years. She succeeds Paula Hodges KC.
Professor Scherer is a renowned arbiter and dispute resolution specialist. She is admitted to the bar in Paris (France) and as solicitor (England and Wales) and has extensive experience with arbitral practice both in civil and common law systems. She is a member of the International Bar Association (IBA), International Council for Commercial Arbitration (ICCA) and the ICSID Panel of Arbitrators, in addition to the LCIA Court. She is regularly named by Who’s Who Legal, The Legal 500 UK as a leading arbitration practitioner, and was listed in the top 20 "Global Elite Thought Leaders" in the field.
